Interior architects Jean-Pierre Aldebert and Jean-Philippe Passot created Studio Kompa 25 years ago. The idea began when they joined the Wilmotte agency after graduating from the Parisian design schools Boulle and Camondo, respectively.
By welcoming Caroline Layrac, a government-accredited architect, Studio Kompa is naturally opening itself up to architecture. Its partners’ complementary backgrounds overlap and mesh into one another ; the end result is a high performing mix of know- how and sensitivity.

From the very beginning, Studio Kompa’s projects have centered on creating contemporary renovations in older, often historically registered sites. Now, it is diversifying rapidly. This transformation is part of the agency’s desire to widen its scope and meet the varied needs of its clients. The challenge is to use the wealth of Studio Kompa partners’ diverse expertise to find targeted solutions with a wide, multi dimensional approach.

As a multitalented agency, Studio Kompa is now able to devote its many capabilites to projects for retail, business, and private clients. Studio Kompa has also had much success designing for luxury brands such as : Nespresso, Henriot, Breguet, Jaquet Droz, and Aubert. It has redesigned office buildings for Air Liquide’s headquarters, as well as Axa and GAN insurance companies. Some of the agency’s hotel projects have been the Peninsula and the Grand Hotel in Grenoble. Its know-how has been exported to China, South Africa, Russia, Switzerland, Morocco, Belgium, and Greece.

What makes Studio Kompa unique is its total commitment to clients. They are included in the process every step of the way. Studio Kompa understands clients’ needs and offers the best and most appropriate solutions, from logo design to custom-designing furniture. Being able to go that extra mile fosters a close relationship with clients, and intensifies the personal nature of projects. It also strengthens the team on a personal and professional level.

In celebration of Studio Kompa’s 25th anniversary, the logo- two stylized compasses- is getting a makeover. The new look is more present and dynamic. The logo- on a grey and silver background- is simple and subtle. It symbolizes a desire to sculpt something out of nothingness and represents serene elegance that is both timeless and of its time.
